Step-by-Step: Update Your Voter Registration Name in Texas

1. Confirm You’re Already Registered to Vote

Visit the Texas Voter Lookup Tool to confirm your registration: 🔗 https://teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do

If you’re not registered, you’ll need to register under your new name.

2. Update Your Name Online

If you’ve moved within the same county or just changed your name, you can update your record online here:

You’ll need:

• Your Texas driver’s license number

• Your old and new name

• Your date of birth

• The county where you’re registered

3. Or Submit a New Voter Registration Application

If you’d prefer to update your record by mail:

• Complete a new voter registration application

• Check the box indicating a name change

• Submit it to your county voter registrar at least 30 days before the next election
